American Airlines once again announced capacity cuts of 2% in addition to previous cuts through the end of October due "pilot retirements, sick calls and mechanical issues".
Recently American won a court ruling allowing it to cut pay of its pilots. The airline has succeeded in bankruptcy court to toss the labor agreements with its pilots.
The "sick calls" and pilots' anger over labor issues and new rules are likely to add a big uncertainty to American's ability to provide reliable service to many destinations in the next several weeks.
